You wonder what they will grow up to be, how they will interact with others and what they will look like. You want to know who they are… and you wish you could actually connect with your baby now.

There are ways you can bond with your baby, before they are born. Here are three to get you started.

#1 Massage

It is safe to massage your baby bump after the first three months of pregnancy. Not only will this potentially help with stretch marks, but it will also be relaxing for both you and baby.

Use body lotion or oil – you could also add a couple of drops of essential oils (such as lavender or rose oil) to turn it into an aromatherapy massage.

You can also rub your bump in response to your baby’s movements. When they kick you, rub the area; this will gradually build up to a regular two-way communication!

#2 Interact with your baby

Talk and sing to your baby. He or she will be enjoying the sounds, of both your body and the outside world, from about 23 weeks. By talking to them now, you’ll help increase the bond you have with them when they are born, and they may pay more attention to your voice if they already recognise it.

#3 Focus your intention

Finally, don’t underestimate the power of focused intention. Think loving thoughts, ask questions about your baby and focus your energy, intention and love down through your body and towards baby. Sit quietly and surround yourself with love, light and peace – and build that connection with your baby within you.
