Each year, The Community Practitioners and Health Visitors Association (CPHVA) Awards is held to reward and celebrate the achievements of community practitioners and health visitors providing high-quality care to the populations they serve. The CPHVA Awards ceremony took place on 28 March 2014 at the stunning setting of the Oxo Tower in London, recognising the work of community practitioners from across the UK. Ruth Oshikanlu won the CPHVA Community Practitioner of The Year award. According to the citation read at the event “Ruth has demonstrated innovation in practice through her passion for helping women to parent their infants. Last year she developed a toolkit for pregnant women to tune into the needs of their unborn or new baby, foster neurological development and promote infant mental health. Ruth is a great leader, possessing resilience and tenacity, and is an excellent role model for the profession”.
